Hi. I’m 49 years old. I’ve got all kinds of experience in Transportation Management…25 years of it. I can do it all…the go-to-guy…..BUT I’m constantly getting passed over for the big promotion by some kid with no experience and a degree. Please tell me if I’m right…a degree on my resume might help? Is an associates degree enough to start out with? After I get it, I can progress to a bachelors.

How is the entire online program experience with the classes, course content, teachers etc?

NCU has business degrees online. They have what they call a “learn as you live” model. I imagine you could start with the associates and then if you want continue on with the bachelors.

I don’t know if an associate’s degree is enough, honestly. It would really depend on the industry that you’re in and the position you’re going for (i.e. is it a move up towards management?) You might want to read job descriptions to see what the requirements are or ask HR. But an associate’s is definitely a good starting point; like you said, get the associate’s first (60 credits) and then move on to the bachelor’s (which you will earn after another 60 credits or so).
