Online Education – The Perfect Option for Working Mothers!

Being a working mother has never been an easy task and balancing professional life and motherhood often leads such women to feelings of guilt and anxiety. According to a survey conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than 26 million working mothers live in USA with children under the age 18. All of these women face very hard times trying to build their careers and manage their households at the same time.

If you are a working mother desiring a promotion, or wish to switch your career or merely want to acquire higher education, then you might want to go for online education considering the fact that you simply cannot attain a promotion or switch your career without having proper quality education. Through eLearning you can now acquire an online diploma, an online certificate as well as a complete online degree without having to worry about attending regular classes.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, around 61 percent of all traditional schools in the U.S now offer online degree programs in numerous online degree subjects. The best part is that you do not have to give up on your current job, which makes online degree programs all the more accessible. Secondly, as eLearning allows you to study from home, you can easily study after coming back from work and putting the kids to sleep after dinner!!

Another benefit of taking the online route to education is that it can help you save quite a bit of education. At times it is simply unimaginable for some to travel to a campus to attend classes several times every week. The nearest campus for certain people is at least a 45 minute drive or more away, and considering the ever-increasing gas prices this can seriously strain your family budget. ELearning allows you to study from the comfort of your bedroom so you need not worry about gas prices or paying a baby sitter anymore!

Fulfilling the responsibilities of a good mother as well as having a rewarding career are the dreams of every professional mother these days. Fortunately, with the latest technology known as online education, both of these dreams can easily be accomplished!!

While I can’t quite agree that education is the *only* way to get a promtion, online education does have great benefits for working moms. Or for stay-at-home moms, or dads, or anyone who doesn’t want to be apart from their kids.

I really enjoyed this article because it points out the way that even small things like travel time can siphon away a mom’s time with her family as she tries to go back to school. Online Education completely eliminates this concern. I recently wrote a similar article about moms going back to school, you can check it out here: http://www.mycollegesandcareers.com.

To Breanna’s point, online education really helps people that have very rigid or chaotic schedules that conflict with daily or weekly classes. And anyone with internet access can do it.

I know my mother worked crazy hours and was essentially “on” 18 hours a day. A robust online program really could have helped her out.
