In the UK we have new qualifications called Foundation Degrees which are the first 2 years of a normal bachelors degree but can be taken blended, partly while at work and partly attending classes.
This takes a lot of organising to make it work for everyone, but it is proving to be effective.
Knowing where to find your technical helpline and tutor support and fellow student support is very important if your are working alone some of the time.
