Independence University, formerly known as California College for Health Sciences, is a distance learning university headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Accreditation for Independence University

Independence University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Career Schools and Colleges and since March 31, 2011, it has also received accreditation by the Distance Education and Training Council. It does not have any regional accreditation. The various health related courses are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), through March 2011. Likewise, its Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
