Distance learning removes not only the distance and location barriers but also the barriers of personal biases towards age, sex, race and physical disabilities. In the real world, these disparities do exist and they affect the lives of many students. We all have heard and experienced teachers favoritism-positively or negatively! Many teachers judge students not on the basis of their knowledge and creativity but on the basis of their race, color, age or physical qualities, but, in online education, there is no scope for such discrimination and open friendships develop. Mails whiz around both sides and all barriers get dissolved. However this also has certain disadvantages. Students of distance learning live in a false world of security free from any biases.
