Who Can Benefit From E- learning?

Friday, June 26th, 2009

E-learning is beneficial for people of all ages especially if you happen to be a working professional, senior citizen or single mother. With e-learning, you can increase your academic qualification without having to worry about attending classes. For working professionals that are looking to advance their career through increase in academic qualification, e-learning is the best option as because of their tight schedule they cannot attend classes of traditional colleges and universities. But yes, they can attend classes from their office cabin or drawing room through internet.

For senior citizens and single mothers that are interested in increasing their academic qualification but feel not at ease because of their age, e-learning is quite a brilliant option as it gives them an opportunity to attend classes without disclosing their identity. Even better, they can give examination whenever they are ready for it from the location of their choice.

Advantages of e-Learning

Some of the advantages of e-learning are mentioned below:

  • You can attend classes from wherever you want through internet.
  • You do not need to disclose your identity when studying in an e-learning environment.
  • In an e-learning environment, it’s totally up to you when you want to appear in an examination.
  • Syllabus is in par with the traditional classroom setup so you do not need to worry about your knowledge base after earning a degree.
  • Teaching is conducted by experienced faculty members.
  • In an e-learning environment tuition rates are not that high so you can easily afford it.
  • You will get the study material when you opt for e-learning. This means that you do not need to prepare your own notes.

Use of Technology

In this day and age when time is of such an importance, there is a significant change in the pattern of learning. Students these days want to learn on the basis of their own schedule. In this regard, IT is playing a prominent part in giving rise to e-learning. Any kind of learning that uses internet or Local Area Network for delivery is known as e-learning.

E-learning is all about distributed learning and computer based training that is being delivered through World Wide Web. As e-learning is self-paced, it gives you an opportunity to get a right kind of learning experience. Often, this is much better than a traditional classroom setup. The student-faculty ratio is normally quite low so you are going to understand concepts quickly. You can take the assistance of your faculty members whenever you want.

E-Learning Certification

There are number of people that do not think very highly of e-learning certification. What they don’t realize is the fact that the course structure of these certification programs are quite identical to traditional degree programs and therefore once you manage to earn a certification you are going to get the entry-level job straightaway. Before taking admission in any certification program, make sure that you check the accreditation of the program first. If it is accredited by the US Department of Education, you can get the grants and scholarships very easily.
