Working Moms Go Back To School – Penn Foster College Offers ‘Project Working Mom’ Scholarships!!
Penn Foster College – an institution well known for its online education programs launched its latest offering "Project Working Mom 2" on July 16th, 2008 in alliance with eLearners.com to offer full scholarships to single, working mothers. This is the second phase of Penn Foster’s first Project Working Mom, which granted around $2 million in scholarships to about 50,000 applicants.
In this second phase, another $2 million in scholarships will be granted to working mothers during the admissions season so that they can go back to school in time. Project Working Mom scholarships are “a great opportunity for some working moms to receive a college education at no cost", said Richard R. Ferrin, President of Penn Foster College. This scholarship program shows how online education has changed the lives of people. Now, through distance learning, single mothers can earn online degrees without having to worry about time, money and traveling to campus.
As a part of Project Working Mom 2, Penn Foster College is also providing a whole range of college scholarships for about 20 diverse associate degree programs. These programs are offered in the fields of healthcare, business, criminal justice, education and technology. A list of these programs can be found at www.pennfostercollege.edu.
Working moms interested in scholarships can submit a short application at www.projectworkingmom.com with an essay explaining their lifestyle, qualification and/or professional objectives, and also give details about how they believe their goals can be achieved through online education.
The closing date to apply for a scholarship in Project Working Mom 2 is August 31st, 2008. The name of working moms who qualify for the scholarships will be announced this September.
